QUALCOMM – Personalizing AI on the EDGE
The Challenge:
Design the interface and showcase potential AI applications tailored for Snapdragon-powered laptops.
The Process:
Collaborating with Qualcomm executives and VPs, our mission was to showcase the capabilities of the new Snapdragon chips. These chips can host entire AI models, such as Llama-2 from Meta and Stable Diffusion, directly on the device, enabling users to leverage these tools even offline.
We developed a Compute App dashboard that facilitated interactions with an AI Assistant and provided remarkable features like 5G connectivity and proprietary DCF signals, creating a peripherals ecosystem akin to Apple's.
Our proudest achievement was the user-friendly AI interface we crafted, specifically designed for individuals unfamiliar with AI tools. After thorough market research, we focused on guiding users in creating well-structured prompts through a selection of pre-written and tested options, complemented by variable drop-down elements in a Mad Lib style. This approach allowed users to generate a personalized travel itinerary or any other prompt effortlessly, empowering the LLM to provide a tailored and comprehensive response.

The Result:
We created and demonstrated an interface through a series of Personas and Use Cases to help illustrate the value that edge computing will enable. Giving everyone creative superpowers and enabling productivity we could only ever dream of before. The AI interface was built into a workable demo to showcase the edge AI in time for the Snapdragon Summit in Maui, HI in October 2023. It was there that CEO Christiano Amon displayed our work on stage during his keynote presentation.
